As the sun dipped low over La Trinité-sur-Mer, painting the sky in fiery oranges and soft pinks, Brice Cunningham pushed off for his very first overnight training sail in preparation for the Mini Transat.

Joined by seven fellow Mini 6.50 skippers from the Pôle Orlabay fleet, the group charged upwind toward Île de Groix in a crisp 15–20 knot north-northeast breeze under a perfectly clear sky. What began as a spectacular sunset run soon gave way to a magical, star-filled night at sea.
After rounding Groix, the fleet was rewarded with a fast, exhilarating downwind leg back to base — pure joy under sail. A memorable milestone that builds the experience, confidence, and unbreakable spirit every ocean racer needs for the big Atlantic crossing ahead.
